Emanuel Bombande

Emanuel Bombande

Executive Director and Co-Founder of West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) and Chair of Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC), Ghana

He is a Peacebuidling Practitioner, International Trainer in Conflict Mitigation and Prevention across Africa and beyond with a strong background in conflict analysis. He has been a lead mediator in many community based mediation efforts in West Africa. He is a member of a Government of Ghana Special Committee to promote peace in the Northern Region of Ghana and an International Trainer with CARITAS International.

He teaches a Negotiation Course at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre as an External Faculty of the Pearson Peacekeeping Training Centre in Canada. He also teaches conflict analysis at the University of Ghana, Legon Centre for International Affairs and served as Trainer in Natural Resources Conflict Management in a Sustainable Livelihood Programme with the FAO in Ghana. His practicum work as part of his Masters of Art studies in Conflict Transformation has focussed on intra-communal conflicts in Northern Ghana. Among others, his work has promoted collaborative approaches to peacebuilding in West Africa anf he Great Lakes Region of Africa. He enjoys team work and engages easily on international politics and its impact on Africa.

Mr. Bombande holds an M.A. in Conflict Transormation from Eastern Mennonite University and in 2005 he was a recipient of the Millenium Excellence Award for Peace in Ghana.
